Milan, Italy (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Inter Milan signed right back Marco Faraoni to a contract extension Thursday through the 2015-16 season. Faraoni, 20, debuted for Inter last August in the Italian Super Cup and played his first Serie A game in November. He has also played in the Champions League group stage, and scored his first goal against Parma last weekend.

Rotterdam, Netherlands (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Feyenoord midfielder Ricky van Haaren has suffered a torn ankle ligament that will keep him out for the next six weeks, it was confirmed by the club. Van Haaren has appeared in six Eredivisie matches this season for Feyenoord, but suffered the injury in training on Wednesday and has undergone tests to confirm the extent of the problem.

Feyenoord will return to action on January 22 at Venlo after entering the winter break in fifth place in the league table.

Barcelona, Spain (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Barcelona forward Pedro Rodriguez is set to spend the next 10 days on the sidelines after sustaining a hamstring injury. The problem occurred during Barca's Copa del Rey win over Osasuna on Thursday when the Spain international was forced off after sustaining the injury.

The news was worse for defender Andreu Fontas, who is due to miss the next six months because of a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

Liverpool, England (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Everton announced Friday that it has signed midfielder Darron Gibson from Manchester United for an undisclosed fee. Gibson, 24, put pen to paper on a four-and-a-half year deal to become Everton's second signing of the January transfer window. The Toffees have also secured the services of American international Landon Donovan on a two-month loan.

A product of the youth system at Manchester United, Gibson broke into the first team in the 2005-06 season and went on to score 10 goals in his 60 appearances for the Red Devils.

The 44-year-old's contract was set to expire at the end of the season, but with Milan tied atop the league with Juventus on 37 points through 17 games, the club was eager to extend his stay.

Frisco, TX (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - FC Dallas defender George John has joined English League Championship side West Ham on a two-month loan deal, the club announced on Friday. As part of the agreement, West Ham will have the option to make the move permanent at the end of the two-month loan.

Glasgow, Scotland (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Celtic's 10 consecutive wins during a 13- match unbeaten streak has lifted it to the top of the Scottish Premier League, but its cushion over Rangers is merely two points. Celtic has needed the incredible run to turn a 15-point deficit into the lead, but Dundee United visits Parkhead on Saturday, when a slip-up could allow its Glasgow rivals to return to the summit.

"We always believed we could turn it around," Celtic's Thomas Rogne said, "but it maybe happened a bit quicker than we thought.

"It's definitely going to be a hard game," Celtic's Scott Brown said.

Rogne did not want to focus on Dundee's recent woes, as "Dundee ... are a very good side and it's always a tough game when we play against them," he said.

MySportsbook.com and Kentucky Derby Offer Bonuses
The 2008 Kentucky Derby has announced a $1-million bonus for this weekend’s 134th ‘Run for the Roses’ and MySportsbook.com is doing the same.

Well, not quite $1 million, but MySportsbook.com is offering a 75% rebate for Kentucky Derby lines. Check out the exclusive horse racing bonus for all the details.

According to MySportsbook.com, the favorites for Saturday’s Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky are: Curlin (+250); Street Sense (+500); Scat Daddy (+700); Circular Quay (+750); and Nobiz Like Shobiz (+800).

Derby organizers announced this week that there will be a $1-million bonus at the 2007 Kentucky Derby odds if the first-place horse wins by more than 6 1/2 lengths – the margin of Barbaro's victory last year. The bonus would be divided Saturday among the winning trainer, jockey, owner and a charity, with each receiving 25 percent. The designated charity is the Barbaro Memorial Fund.

''It's certainly creative, it's certainly fun and it has something for the horsemen, which we always want to embrace,'' Churchill Downs president and chief executive Robert Evans said at a news conference. ''What's really cool is it will force us to remember Barbaro.''

Meanwhile, the Derby favorite – Curlin – is going against the odds this year. It's been 125 years since Apollo won after skipping his 2-year-old season, and not since Regret in 1915 has such a lightly seasoned horse worn the blanket of red roses.

Arkansas Derby winner Curlin – unbeaten in three career races – tries to overcome both those obstacles in Saturday's 133rd Derby.

''We're not running against history,'' trainer Steve Asmussen said Monday. ''We're running against who they load up.''

Six other horses have run in the Derby without benefit of 2-year-old races and with three or fewer starts. The best any of them managed was a sixth-place finish by Showing Up last year.

Asmussen dismissed suggestions that Curlin's lack of racing experience could keep him from the winner's circle.

”He exudes confidence and he's got a great presence about him,'' the trainer said. ''I feel great about the position we're in. He's not worried about anything, why should you be?''

The Kentucky Derby is at 4:04 p.m., ET Saturday.
